Let me tell you a little about myself. First of all, I haven’t always loved English as a subject, and reading was, at times, akin to having splinters placed under my fingernails. Can you relate?
Believe me, I thoroughly understand when people feel their
writing abilities are not up to par. It can be both crippling and undermining. And, spell check is not always a friend. In addition, it is extremely embarrassing when we are unable to express ourselves properly. How do I know these things? I’ve been where many of you are now. At that time, I just kept hoping that no one would discover just how little I knew about proper grammar usage and my lack of confidence in my own writing abilities.
Now, you may be wondering how I not only became an exceptional writer and voracious reader but also received my M.A. in English. Those are questions I will be happy to answer once we begin working together. I can tell you this, however, reading makes one a better writer. It’s true. So, as I read more, I became better able to express myself through my college writing, corporate correspondence, and as an English instructor. Along the way, I turned what I learned into practical applications, which people -- from all walks of life -- have found invaluable. As a result, my clients, many who once saw writing as an onerous task, have gained new found confidence in themselves through their writing.
